Curriculum

We have a robust curriculum including inpatient, ambulatory and obstetrics. Inpatient and emergency pediatrics are completed at the University of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, a quick drive from the residency. Our residents work in the inpatient, nursery and emergency department at the Children's Hospital. At the beginning of PGY2, you will be able to choose from one or many of our tracks: obstetrics, ambulatory, hospital or missions to get more experience in a particular area to tailor your training. Each track has a curriculum with goal procedures numbers, patient encounters, and other specific learning opportunities.

Our didactic plan includes noon lectures on Monday, Friday, and a full afternoon on Wednesday. Our topics include morbidity and mortality, patient safety, POCUS, board preparation, radiology, ethics, journal club, osteopathic, physician wellness, mystery case, and hands on procedure training.
