Curriculum
Rotation Schedule
The current rotation schedule consists of:
- 2 blocks: Internal Medicine
- 2 blocks: Surgery
- 1 block: Emergency Medicine
- 1 block: Research
- 2 blocks: Procedures
- 1 block: Palliative Care
- 3 blocks: Electives
- 1 block: Ambulatory Clinic
All rotations occur at SSM Health St. Anthony’s Hospital - Oklahoma City. Electives may be done at outside clinical sites per Graduate Medical Office approval.
Night Float
One week of night float per each block of IM.
Research
Research is split into two 2-week blocks - Research and CLIN-IQ. During the two-week research block, residents will prepare their Grand Rounds and M&M presentations, which they will present at their allotted time. During the CLIN-IQ block, residents will formulate and research a clinical question in PICO format.
Didactics
Transitional Year Residents attend monthly Morbidity and Mortality, Ethics, and Grand Rounds noon lectures with the Family Medicine residents. In addition, Journal Club is held once a month among the residents and Dr. Eichmann. Residents get two half-days off a month to complete MedChallenger educational modules.
