Teaching & Research
Our program also provides multiple opportunities for residents to teach and perform research in the pharmacy field. In addition to participating in Pharm.D. candidate experiential training during advanced pharmacy practice experiences, residents are required to take part in the Resident Teaching Certificate Program offered by the Southern Illinois School of Pharmacy Edwardsville from which they receive a formal teaching certificate. Residents also develop and present a continuing education presentation for the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis' Resident Seminar Series.
Residents gain valuable, hands-on experience working with multidisciplinary teams while serving on committees and providing care to patients throughout the hospital. Residents are also required to conduct and complete a research project suitable for publication and present it at the annual Midwest Pharmacy Residency Conference in Omaha, NE.
