Residents will have nine required rotation experiences along with two elective experiences.

- Internal Medicine
- General Cardiology
- Infection Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship
- One critical care rotation:
- Neurocritical Care
- Trauma Critical Care
- Pulmonary/Medicine Critical Care
- Two immunosuppressed rotations:
- Hematology
- Solid Organ Transplant
- Bone Marrow Transplant
- Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic
- Pharmacy Practice Management/Medication Safety/Investigational Drug Service
- Precepting
Elective Rotations
- Psychiatry
- Integrated Practice
- Emergency Medicine
- Advanced Cardiology
- Cardiothoracic Surgery
- An additional critical care rotation listed above
- An additional immunosuppressed rotation listed above
Longitudinal Learning Experiences
- Distributive Services
- Research (with concentrated block)
- Longitudinal Resident Development
- Resident Education Academy (REA)
Certification and Teaching Opportunities
- Teaching certificate required through University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis Resident Education Academy
- Regional continuing education seminar lecture development
- Precepting Advanced Practice Pharmacy Experience (APPE) students from local colleges of pharmacy
Staffing Requirements
- Independently staff, outside of scheduled rotation hours, a minimum of 360 hours
- Hours completed prior to full licensure will count toward minimum requirements
- Independent staffing is defined as any time that a resident is caring for patients and not being directly supervised by another pharmacist
- General staffing schedule and rotation:
- Every 4th weekend (two 8-hour shifts)
- One evening per week (4-hour shift from 1600 to 2000)
- Two days surrounding 1 major holiday (two 8-hour shifts)
