SSM Health optometrists specialize in eye care for the whole family. They are specially trained to examine your vision and prescribe the right corrective lenses, contacts, or medication, enhancing your vision and comfort.
To provide you the most extensive care, we co-manage more complex conditions with our ophthalmologists (eye doctors), who focus on the medical needs of your eyes.
Whether it’s providing low vision refraction to cope with retinal diseases or screenings for patients interested in Lasik eye surgery, our eye care team is dedicated to helping each of our patients achieve optimal eye health and see their world more clearly.
When To See An Optometrist
When you need a routine eye exam or to get fitted for contacts, it’s best to go to an experienced optometrist.
For people with no eye problems, chronic illnesses, or a family history of eye disease, we recommend routine eye exams be performed every two years.
If you do have a chronic illness, such as diabetes or hypertension, it is important to have your eyes examined annually.
