Why Annual Mammograms Are Important

Annual (also known as routine or screening) mammograms allow your health care team to look for changes in your breasts. This non-invasive exam can detect breast cancer early when it is easiest to treat.

The Women's Imaging Center at St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City is designed to take the stress out of mammograms and other testing. We offer one spot for your annual mammogram, diagnostic mammogram, bone-density scans, diagnostic ultrasound, and breast biopsies. The Center now offers state-of-the-art digital 3-D mammography to our patients.

Some circumstances require our assistance with scheduling. Please verify the following before proceeding:

I am age 35 or older.
I am NOT experiencing any issues, such as a lump, nipple discharge or other changes.
I was not diagnosed with breast cancer within the last three years.
I have not breast fed within the last six months.
It has been one year or more since my last appointment.
